My Story: IBS Healed in One Week
I'm a licensed massage therapist. I've helped hundreds of patients heal their bodies. But for years, I couldn't fix my own gut — IBS, chronic pain, diarrhea, and sometimes bloody stools.
I tried everything. Probiotics. Digestive enzymes. Special diets. Nothing worked.
Then I moved to New Jersey in 2025 and ordered raw milk for the first time.
One week later — the pain was gone. The diarrhea was gone. Completely healed.
That experience changed everything I thought I knew about milk.
First, Let's Get the Terms Straight
Most people are confused about milk labels. Here's the truth:
TermLegal?Pasteurized?EnzymesBacteriaRaw Milk✅ Yes❌ No100% aliveHundreds of strainsWhole Milk✅ Yes✅ Yes100% destroyedZeroLow-Fat / Skim✅ Yes✅ YesDestroyedZero"Real Milk"❌ No — marketing termVariesUnknownUnknown
Bottom line: "Real Milk" is just a marketing label with no legal definition. Don't be fooled. What truly matters is whether milk is raw (unpasteurized) or not.
The Whole Milk for Kids Act — A Good Start, But Not Enough
In January 2025, President Trump signed the Whole Milk for Kids Act, restoring whole milk to school cafeterias after years of low-fat-only policies.
Great first step.
But whole milk is still pasteurized — which means the enzymes are dead, vitamins are partially destroyed, and beneficial bacteria are completely wiped out. Only the 3.25% fat content survives.
We need to go one step further. That step is raw milk.
Even RFK Jr. — Trump's HHS Secretary — has publicly stated he drinks raw milk exclusively. He knows the difference.
What Pasteurization Actually Destroys
Pasteurization heats milk to kill bacteria. But it kills far more than that:
Enzymes — 100% destroyed. Lactase (breaks down lactose), lipase (digests fat), and phosphatase (enables calcium absorption) are all eliminated. This is why so many people are "lactose intolerant" with store-bought milk.
Vitamins — up to 66% lost. Vitamin C loses 50%, B12 loses 30%, folate loses 50%.
Beneficial bacteria — 100% killed. Then dairy companies add back synthetic probiotics. Nature's version, gone.
Protein structure — deformed. Your immune system treats pasteurized milk proteins as foreign invaders, triggering allergies and inflammation.
Calcium absorption — drops from 95% to under 30%. You're drinking milk for calcium and absorbing almost none of it.
Is Raw Milk Safe? The Data Says Yes.
This is the question everyone asks. Here's what the research shows:
CDC data (2005–2016): Raw milk accounted for just 0.0001% of all foodborne illness cases — compared to leafy greens at 23% and meat at 22%.
Dr. Ted Beals' research: Your chance of getting sick from raw milk is 1 in 6 million. You're 12x more likely to be struck by lightning.
Michigan State University study: E. coli added to raw milk decreased by 90% in 24 hours. In pasteurized milk? It increased 5,600 times.
Why? Raw milk has its own built-in defense system — lactoferrin, lactoperoxidase, and immunoglobulins — all destroyed by pasteurization.
The Healing Power: What Studies Show
A Nature journal study found that children who drank raw milk had:
Asthma reduced by 52%
Allergies reduced by 50%
Eczema reduced by 57%
Children drinking pasteurized milk showed no such benefits.
In my own clinic, I've seen a teenager's 10-year eczema improve 80% in two weeks on raw milk, chronic digestive issues resolve within a month, and blood sugar normalize in a pre-diabetic patient.
Why Was It Banned?
Two reasons: money and politics.
Raw milk can only come from local farms. Big Dairy can't industrialize or profit from it. Combined with the 1950s low-fat agenda — heavily influenced by the sugar industry — raw milk was quietly regulated out of mainstream access.
The actual risk data never justified the ban. The financial incentives did.
What You Should Do
✅ Visit realmilk.com to find out if raw milk is legal to purchase in your state ✅ Look for milk labeled "raw" or "unpasteurized" — not just "whole" or "real" ✅ Start slowly and observe how your body responds
Your body has the ability to heal itself — when you give it the right fuel.
